Becky Terrazas is a retired choral director with 32 years of teaching experience in secondary education. Throughout her career, her choirs consistently received top honors including “1” ratings at UIL and Solo & Ensemble. A proud San Antonio native, Becky graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School
and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music Education, with a minor in piano from Our Lady of the Lake University.
Becky has been an active member of several organizations, including the Texas Choral Directors’ Association, Texas Music Educators’ Association, American Choral Directors' Association, Texas Music Adjudicators’ Association, The Organization of American Kodaly Educators, and the National Association for Professional Women. Over the past 22 years, Becky has worked as a music education consultant, adjudicator, and accompanist in addition to teaching conducting for the SAISD Kodaly Certification Program. She is frequently in demand as a clinician and adjudicator.
Throughout her 18 year tenure as the Choral Artist in Education for SAISD, Mrs. Terrazas has significantly impacted the district’s choral programs.
Her dedication to professional development has led to the creation of numerous presentations and training sessions, enhancing the skills of both students and educators. By mentoring new and veteran teachers alike, she has fostered a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the choral community. Her unwavering commitment to excellence has left an indelible mark on SAISD’s musical landscape, inspiring generations of musicians and educators.
