Bradley Acree is currently the Head Choir Director at Kahla Middle School in the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District. He has been teaching for 13 years, and choirs under his direction have consistently received Superior ratings at UIL festivals and Best in Class ratings at state festivals. In 2019, his Tenor/Bass Choir was named a “Commended Winner” of The Mark of Excellence National Choral Honors.
Mr. Acree has served as the Tenor Section Leader for the TMEA Region 27 Middle School Honor Choir since 2013. He also served as the Tenor Section Leader for the TCDA Honor/All-State Choirs in 2015 and 2019, and was the Region 12 TTB Clinician in 2017.
He graduated from Southwestern University with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Lamar University. Mr. Acree is on the board of directors and is one of the founding members of the Houston Men’s Choir, a professional vocal ensemble that performs throughout the Houston area. Outside of the classroom, he maintains an active schedule as a clinician, adjudicator, and professional singer. He is currently a member of TMEA and TCDA.
In addition to his work in education, Bradley has served as the Traditional Worship Leader at Cypress Methodist Church for the past three years, where he leads worship and supports the church’s music ministry.
When he is not teaching, he enjoys playing golf. He also loves playing soccer with his youngest son, Tristan; football with his oldest son, Teddy; and cooking amazing food and traveling with his wife, Dolores.
